How Can severe Swelling And Pain In The Feet Be Treated?

Hi, I recently started a new job where I am standing on my feet for 8hrs. My feet are at the point where they hurt aall day. I noticed that I walk on my heels and off to the side of my feet and now they are bruised, swollen and very painful. I m thinking that it s because I m standing for 8 hrs and on concrete. I did have issues with painful heels more on the left than the rit. First, how can I get rid of the pain, and also is there a possibility that I could have heel spurs. I am in so much pain I would rather crawl than walk.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Your concerns here,
1. Get more comfortable footwear since your job demands standing. By comfortable I mean anything that is neither pointed heels nor directly touching the floor. Something that can take the pressure from the concrete.
2. Heel spurs can give similar symptoms. There's not too much of a treatment there either. If your symptoms go down with change of footwear that should deal with the spurs too. If not, then get an ankle x-ray done.
